This new Buddha shrine was established by Ven. Divyananda of the Mahamuni Society to honor the monastic tradition that flourished in Kanchipuram two thousand years ago. It features a Bodhi tree and a flagstaff nearby. The surrounding wall is constructed in a style reminiscent of Sanchi. Inside the shrine is a Buddha statue sculpted at Mamallapuram.
