Location
This temple is located further south of the Vilankoli Perumal temple and is closer to the south gate (Keezh gate) bus stop. This stop is on the eastward route to Uttiramerur town.

Hymns
This temple is consecrated by the hymns of Saints Peyazhwar (26th, 34th, and 62nd verses of Mundram Tiruvandhadhi) and Tirumangai Azhwar (127th verse of Periya Tirumadal). Saint Vedanta Desikar composed the ‘Kamasika Ashtakam’ in praise of the deity here.
Mythology
Goddess Saraswati sent a demon named Kapalika to disrupt the Yagam being performed by her husband Brahma. To protect the Yagam, Vishnu assumed the form of Narasimha (with a lion’s head and a human body), fought off the demon, and saved the Yagam.
