This temple is located on Kammala Street, close to the new Kanchipuram railway station.
Architecture
This is an east-facing temple that includes a Sanctum Sanctorum, an Antharalam, and a Mandapam
Sculpture
The temple walls are adorned with sculptures. In the south-side Antharalam, there is a figure of Ganapathy, while the south-side wall of the Sanctum Sanctorum features a Yoga Dakshinamurthy figure. The back wall displays figures of Shiva Thandava Moorthy, Pikshadana, and Gaja Samhara Moorthy. On the north-side wall, you can see figures of Brahma, Gangadhara, and Kalasamhara. The standout attraction is the eight-armed Durga, seated on a lion, located in the north-side Antharalam.
Mythology
It is believed that this is the place where Markandeya praised Lord Shiva for his eternal nature, symbolizing an existence without aging or death.
